Good and gracious God, today it is a bit harder to be thankful.
Many of us are grieving, anxious, hurting, sad, lonely, and ill.
Yet, through all of this,
You love us.
You are here for us
and you surround us with all the blessings we need to face these days with grace.
So, today, we thank you first for the gift of life,
and pray for those who have lost their lives during this pandemic,
and all who mourn them.
We thank you for the hearts, hands, and minds of the nurses, doctors, and scientists
who care for the sick and seek cures.
We thank you for family and friends,
whether or not we can be with them today.
We thank you for the food on our table,
and ask for compassion to help those who are hungry.
We thank you for the gift of Your Son Jesus
who redeemed us and accompanies us on our life journey.
We praise your name and bless you
for these and all the gifts you give us.
