RENEW to honor three at 17th annual Gala

The 17th Annual RENEW Gala is fast approaching. Each year we honor three outstanding Catholics who make the connection between their faith and their everyday lives. This year, we are proud to honor Joseph Franzetti, Renée DeGagné, and Mary Ryan.

Joseph Franzetti is a senior vice president at Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC, where he is responsible for capital markets activities. He is a frequent speaker and writer on the topic of commercial mortgage-backed securities. A graduate of Villanova University and New York University, Joe is a member of Presentation Parish in Upper Saddle River, N.J. Joe lives with his wife, Patty, and their three daughters and two sons in Woodcliff Lake, N.J. Joe has been a key contributor to RENEW since its founding, as a participant, donor, trustee and recently chair of the Board of Trustees. Joe will receive the President’s Award.

Renée DeGagné is the managing director and head of institutional client management for RBC Capital Markets. At RBC, she works on the internal RWomen Committee and the RBC Diversity Leadership Council, promoting an ethical workplace. She serves as a mentor helping women to succeed in financial services careers and was named Mentor of the Year by Traders Magazine. A native of Ontario, Canada, she also serves on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of New York Foundation. She is a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in South Orange, N.J. where she volunteered for over a decade as a member of the parish choir. She lives in South Orange with her husband, Brian Legg. Renée will receive the Spirit of RENEW Award.

Mary Ryan is a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Westfield, N.J. Mary has been a part of RENEW as a participant for many years. She and her husband, John, have provided a loving home for their own children, numerous foster children, and also for children and families who came to the United States for needed surgeries. Most recently Mary was the subject of one of RENEW’s Be My Witness videos, “Show Up With Our ‘Yes.’” Mary is involved with Imagine, an organization that supports children and families coping with loss, and in prison ministry at a maximum-security facility. She is a Eucharistic minister in her parish. Mary will receive the Msgr. Thomas Kleissler Award.
